Let's Get Dizzy!

One of my favorite poets is the late Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Mary Oliver. I’m always captured by her observations in nature and have often laughed out loud at her quirky turns of phrase. But I especially love this poem as it shares, unwittingly, the most profound secret of living in a state of abundance:

If I Were by Mary Oliver

“There are lot of ways to dance and to spin, sometimes it just starts my feet first then my entire body, I am spinning no one can see it but it is happening. I am so glad to be alive, I am so glad to be loving and loved. Even if I were close to the finish, even if I were at my final breath, I would be here to take a stand, bereft of such astonishments, but for them.

If I were a Sufi, for sure I would be one of the spinning kind.”

Aren’t you glad to be alive? To be loving and be loved? And, that’s just the beginning of our never-ending list of blessings for which we can be grateful.

Friends, to live abundantly is to spin with abandon in a constant state of gratitude. Come on! Let’s all get dizzy together!
