I’ve always said that my company’s success can only be attributed to God’s grace because I’m just not this smart to have built such a highly-esteemed organization. One of the many things he has blessed me with: great people to work with. So it is my obligation to lead them well. That’s why I start each day with reading a page from Leadership Prayers. Whether you lead a large enterprise, a small department, a classroom of 3rd graders, or a family of two, this is a great book to keep you centered and communicating clearly with your number one investor.
So important a book that I bought 150 copies and sent to my Insider Marketing clients! Daniel Pink brilliantly combines history and factual data to show us who will be the big thinkers of our future. If you are in business, know someone who is in business, OR if you’re a mother or father wondering what to do with your “creative child”, this is a must-read.
Everyday Grace: Having Hope, Finding Forgiveness, and Making Miracles is a marvelous book for those who seek to grow spiritually and yearn to know God. Regardless of your religious affiliation, this book will most likely speak to you. Marianne is also the author of The Gift of Change – another wonderfully written book on spiritual maturation.

Feel like you don’t know that person who passes you in the night? Spending too much time talking at each other rather than with each other? Ms. Kirshenbaum provides great insight and practical advice to those who look to strengthen their marriage in the face of hectic schedules and differing communication styles. You’ll love her guerrilla tactics at the end of each chapter!
How Full Is Your Bucket? is a little book (about 100 pages) about positive reinforcement. It’s a great book for us all as it reminds us of the power of recognition and appreciation using the metaphor of bucket filling – positive words and deeds, and bucket dipping – when your negativity towards others drains their buckets, as well as your own. The book is a good Professional Development and self-improvement read, but I recommend it to you because it’s also a FANTASTIC book for parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. If you have the responsibility of or the opportunity to influence a child, regardless of age, I highly recommend you and your family read this book and learn to fill the buckets of the children in your life.
One of the most profound books I’ve ever read, The Traveler’s Gift is a modern-day parable of one man’s choices – and the attitudes that make the difference between success and failure. This is a MUST read for everyone, but of particular value to those who face burnout.
An honest, authentic account of what it’s like to wrestle with God and the ones we love. Patricia Raybon’s sense of humor and writing style are so entertaining, you’ll want to read this one through in one sitting. It’s a must read for anyone woman who doesn’t live the perfect life.
If you think you think too much… you probably do. This is an incredibly insightful book that provides practical advice on how to break free from overthinking. It’s a must-have if you spend too much time overthinking intimate relationships, your relationships with your parents, siblings or children, your career, health, or are unable to move on from a loss or trauma
Girlfriends, if you read nothing else – READ THIS BOOK. So much about your feelings toward and about money are clearly articulated in this fabulously written, can’t put it down, book

Recommended to me by my Merrill Lynch financial advisor, Carol Meyer, this is a terrific “how to” book that offers smart, practical suggestions for getting a handle on your finances. You won’t be intimidated by the writing style at all – it’s very plain-spoken; a must read for women of any age.
I love everything about this book, including the title! John Ortberg tells it like it is: nothing, I mean nothing, is going to happen until YOU take the first step. It’s a must-read and one of my most favorite books in my library.
This book is about the power of the network, the importance of sharing information with others and how “lovecats” can make a difference in the Professional Development world. Tim shows us that the way to really get ahead is by helping others. Absolutely awesome!
The single, most logical “diet book” I’ve ever read. Read it. Follow her recommendations. You’ll look better and feel better – I don’t see how it cannot work for every woman. Mireille is also the CEO of the wine company Clicquot and has been called a champion of women in Professional Development.
If you don’t have the time or interest to read this book, at least read the chapter on the Awesome Power of Empathetic Listening. Gary Chapman, the author of The Five Languages of Love, which has sold more than three million copies, has penned another fabulous book as to how to build and maintain a successful marriage. Regardless of what season your marriage is in – this is a must read.
Men and women think differently, and Gail Evans does a fabulous job in modeling these differences in Play Like A Man, Win Like A Woman. This is a must-read for every woman who communicates with a man – regardless of your role.
The result of interviews with over 80,000 managers and 400 companies conducted by the Gallup group, this book challenges everything we were ever taught about managing and motivating people. It is the single best Professional Development book I’ve ever read. The recommendations work; as a result of reading the book, our organization reorganized and saw an immediate improvement in productivity, morale, and quality of work.
